Nazareth Lodge - the place is so homely and very up-to-speed with regard to decor and furnishings without that horrid residential home feel. The biggest plus is the staff who are incredibly helpful and friendly but at the same time are professional. My Mum has been a resident for 18 months and a daycare visitor for 3 years and has always been so happy there.
My Dad spent a short time there and their care for him in his last days was exceptional he was very happy to be there and so well looked after.
I would thoroughly recommend Nazareth Lodge for your loved ones.
Overall Experience
Mum needed care at very short notice, due to a recent illness that had set her on a downward spiral. After reading the amazing reviews we spoke to the Administrator. She was so helpful, warm and welcoming that we didn't hesitate to choose Nazareth Lodge for mum. The home does not have any of the typical odours, sometimes associated with care homes, it is spotless, the food is fresh, homemade and has certainly enticed mum into eating again. The staff are so caring, respectful and welcoming to residents and family. Mum is enjoying all the interaction and the trips out. It is so nice to see her bright and engaged again after such a short period of time. A weekly newsletter is sent to the relatives, which is so thoughtful, it makes us feel part of the home. We truly are blessed to have found the best care home in Dorset for our mum. Thank you Nazareth Lodge.

Nazareth Lodge prides itself on the emphasis placed in keeping and training its own staff and this shows in the quality of service and attitude of the staff towards residents and visitors.
Mum moved into Nazareth Lodge on 1st March 2022. Both she and I were so relieved to find such wonderfully caring staff there. In fact, we have been exceedingly impressed by the friendly, caring and professional attitude, which extends throughout the whole team of personnel working there, towards the residents and their relatives as well as amongst each other.
Mum is now 102 years old and needs a high level of care, and she has been consistently afforded respect and kindness along with an understanding of increasing the care as her condition progresses, physically and mentally. She very quickly “adopted “ the staff as her own family, and I am so grateful to them all for the unconditional love and care they have shown my mother and also to me.
D particularly enjoyed the daily activities and was always very complimentary about the variety and quality of the meals.
My mum went into Nazareth Lodge initially for respite last September and is now a permanent resident. I knew the moment I walked in that I had found the perfect place for her as all the staff were so welcoming. I cannot fault the care my mum has had since moving in and I know she now sees it as her home. I would highly recommend this care home.
Nazareth Lodge is a truly excellent care home. Unfortunately, my wife's condition of dementia is deteriorating and when she is away from her home surrounding and from my fulltime care, she displays signs of unhappiness.
I know that everything possible was done to make my wife's stay as comfortable as it could be. I look forward to another visit to Nazareth Lodge in the future.
Nazareth Lodge encourages a wide range of activities and outings - although my mother seemed to spend most of her time getting her hair done and having massages!
Staff made it easy for us to visit and we always felt sure our mother was being well looked after with excellent food, impeccable hygiene and careful thought given to every aspect of what would be best for her individually.
A thank you would in no way suffice for the reassurance and peace that everyone helped to give to me and others during the eight months that RW was with you.
To know that mum spent her last few days/weeks surrounded by your care and kindness, as well as professionalism, gives me a huge sense of relief and peace. Thank you for everything.
As a family we all know that everything after my father's death was handled brilliantly even down to a 'guard of honour' as his body left Nazareth Lodge.
My mother is in her nineties and has spent more than four years at Nazareth Lodge, but being completely bedbound is sadly unable to take part in any of the activities and outings enjoyed by the more mobile residents.
As she is confined to her room, her family naturally has concerns about her morale; but we are very reassured by the unfailing kindness shown to her by every one of the staff: not just the carers, but the administrator, the cook - and even the cleaners and the maintenance man are always cheerful and chatty. Nazareth Lodge is a happy place: there is a lot of laughter here.
Everyone has a friendly, caring approach and there is nothing that is too much trouble
